Getting Suture Wet After Surgery; Do it in 24 hours with a shower and baby shampoo.

It is fine to shower the day after a facelift or any plastic surgery.  Baths are not acceptable because of contamination.  Not showering the day after and keeping sutures dry gos back to the ancient days of silk suture.  Water rand down the sutures.  Modern sutures are water proof.  Showering and cleaning with gentle baby shampoo decreases the risk of infection.  Can you imagine the bacteria in a dirty wound that has not been showered for a week or two.  Shower the day after your surgery.  Get modern. Get very very safe.  My Best,  Dr C
